There were several exhibitions in Kyoto that were part of the Mokuhanga conference. I was included in two exhibitions. One exhibition was “Mokuhanga & Hyogu” which was an exhibition of works by former artist residents’ of Nagasawa Art Park. The other was “Hanga Ehon: Hand Printed Books” which was an exhibition of artist books. Both venues were very unique and interesting.
“Mokuhanga & Hyogu” was exhibited in a traditional Japanese-style tatami room at the Kyoto Art Center.
“Hanga Ehon: Hand Printed Books” was in the top floor gallery space called Kyoto Paradise in a really interesting bookstore called Yamazaki Shoten that sells old books and prints.
